At Northern Nest, we understand that every child and every family is unique - and every nest is different.
We’re here to support you in finding the childcare arrangement that feels right for your family. Alongside Early Education Funding and Tax-Free Childcare, we offer a flexible range of privately funded hours, allowing you to create a package that suits your routine, your values and your child’s needs.
This Government scheme offers eligible families 15 or 30 hours of funded childcare per week, supporting early educations and children to children aged 9 months to school age.
Funded hours are typically taken over 38 weeks per year (term-time), or these can be stretched across the year to support continuity of care (annualised).
Early Education Funding
Tax‑Free Childcare is a government scheme that helps working parents manage the cost of registered childcare.
For every £8 you pay, the government adds £2, giving families up to £2,000 per year per child (or £4,000 for children with additional needs).
Tax Free Childcare
All 3‑ and 4‑year‑olds are also entitled to 15 funded hours, regardless of family circumstances.

Government funding supports your childcare hours, but it doesn’t cover the everyday essentials that make those hours feeling homely and engaging. To keep our quality high, consumable fees help to cover nutritious meals, snacks and drinks, as well as items like nappies, wipes, tissues, and craft materials.
Your support means we can provide thoughtful activities, cosy care routines and little touches that help your child feel at home in our nest. Thank you for helping us create well-balanced days for your child.
