Northern Nest began with a simple idea - to create a place where children feel truly at home, families feel supported, and communities grow stronger together.
Based in the heart of Stockport, we are a nurturing, community-focused nursery for children aged 0–5. From the very beginning, our vision has been to offer more than childcare. We are building a space where little ones flourish, families feel connected, and every individual is valued and celebrated.
We believe that every child’s story is unique - and so is every family. That’s why inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do. We warmly welcome families of all backgrounds, cultures and experiences, creating an environment where everyone feels seen, respected and a true sense of belonging.
Northern Nest was founded by two passionate women who share a deep belief in the power of early experiences to shape a child’s future. With a strong background in people, leadership and communication - and lived experience as a parent within the local community - our approach is grounded in understanding what families really need: trust, flexibility, connection and high-quality care.
We are proud to be rooted in our local community. Our nursery is designed to be a welcoming hub, not just for children, but for families too - a place to connect, access support, share experiences and grow together. From wellbeing initiatives to community partnerships, we are committed to making a positive, lasting impact beyond our walls.
At Northern Nest, we focus on the whole child - supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. But just as importantly, we support the whole family, building strong, open relationships that help everyone feel empowered and supported.
We may be at the beginning of our journey, but our purpose is clear: to create a place where children thrive, families belong, and our community grows stronger - together.
